 This item is a must when replacing the gearbox or clutch.  It is a nylon bush that sits inside the gearbox housing which the clutch release arm pivots on.  Imagine how many times the clutch release arm has pivoted on this nylon bush on a 17 year old car?  The bush wears down allowing excessive movement of the clutch arm and therefore not allowing full travel of the clutch.
